Capital Project Cost Reporting
Cost ReportingEAC/ETC AnalysisBudget ManagementForecastingEarned Value Management
What It Does
Ongoing cost control responsibility for a major capital project. Managing the full cost report cycle: baseline budget maintenance, commitment tracking (original + changes), forecast change requests, uncommitted budget analysis, and estimate at completion (EAC) vs. control budget variance monitoring. Tracking 20+ WBS elements with $2.7M+ in active commitments and producing stakeholder-ready reports with earned value metrics.
Key Features
- Baseline budget maintenance and commitment tracking
- Forecast change requests and uncommitted budget analysis
- EAC vs. control budget variance monitoring
- 20+ WBS elements with $2.7M+ in active commitments
- Stakeholder-ready reports with earned value metrics
Why I Built It
Capital projects need continuous cost visibility. Without ongoing cost reporting, budget variances compound and stakeholders lose confidence.
What I Learned
Learned the full cost reporting lifecycle: from baseline setup to variance analysis to stakeholder communication. Understanding how EAC/ETC tracking drives project decision-making.
